Countdown Begins to Ninth Edition
USA to Host Opening Match on June 1
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the full match schedule for the ninth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the West Indies and USA from June 1 to 28, 2024.
The tournament will feature 20 teams, with the top 8 teams from the ICC T20I Team Rankings as of September 15, 2023, gaining automatic qualification. The remaining 12 teams will compete in a qualifying tournament to secure their berths.
The matches will be played across four venues in the United States (Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, and Fort Lauderdale) and four venues in the West Indies (Bridgetown, Georgetown, Port of Spain, and Kingston).
The tournament will kick off with a blockbuster clash between the United States and Canada in Dallas on June 1, 2024. The final will be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on June 28, 2024.
