"This Is Different"
After wheeling him into the stadium, Liberty University crammed a hospital bed into what was originally a radio/TV booth in the press box. When Hugh Freeze got up, he told his wife Jill, "This is different. I'm not immediately having those same back spasms every time I move I wanted."
Freeze Held Staff Meetings from Hospital Bed
Freeze held all of his staff meetings while he was in the hospital bed the morning of the game, which came as a great surprise to his team. "You've seen the pictures and memes," Freeze said. "But I want to break down what it was like coaching from a hospital bed and just how it got to that point."

Hugh Freeze held a different style of press conference on game day. He coached from a hospital bed in a coaches booth due to back spasms. Freeze said that he was in a lot of pain, but he was determined to coach his team to victory. "I didn't want to let them down," Freeze said. "I knew they were counting on me."
Freeze's team won the game, and he was praised for his dedication and determination. "He's a great coach," said one player. "He never gives up, no matter what." Freeze said that he was grateful for the support of his team and his family. "I couldn't have done it without them," he said.
